In 1848, the British political party The Communist League commissioned German philosophers Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels to write a pamphlet outlining the means and ends of the party's ambitions. Originally titled "The Manifesto of the Communist Party", it was later recognised as one of the world's most influential political documents.

Since its release the world has seen two World Wars, the rise and fall of Empires, and a subsequent technological revolution. Nevertheless, the Manifesto still resonates today among modern communists. It remains the "de facto prima scriptura" detailing the means and ends to revolutionise society to rid mankind of class struggle, once and for all.
